The Slaughter GRID TRAIL 2Bliss Ready T7 tire has been designed for heavy-pedal, hard-pack riding—receiving vertically stepped knob shapes for more knob core stability and additional biting edges. Fast courses on hard-packed ground require a light, fast tire center to keep speeds high, but must also keep the speed through loose sandy corners and track well under hard braking. For these reasons, we've kept the high shoulder knobs. Our GRID TRAIL casing is a step up from GRID with more reinforcement, delivering better handling at lower pressures—all while increasing pinch flat protection by 15% and puncture protection by 30%. Building on this solid base, the T7 Gripton compound enhances rolling speed while still providing tons of grip.

  • Casing: 60 TPI, tough trail construction with additional bead to bead protection for exceptional puncture resistance, sidewall stiffness and stability.

  • Bead: Foldable

  • Butyl wrapped bead = 2Bliss Ready

  • Compound: GRIPTON®

Fast and Loose

Warning: Will cause maniacal laughter My favorite rear Trail tire, smiles for miles. Used over a couple of seasons everywhere in janky New England tech and flow. Absolutely rips hard pack singletrack and tackles mostly everything as long as you don't mind whipping that tail around. It's biggest weaknesses are wet, polished roots and deep sand - I wish there was a T9 version to counter the effect. I would also love a Grid Gravity T9 for the park bike, but can't have everything. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Best paired with a Butcher or Purgatory grid trail T9 in front.

My favorite tire

I've been to bike parks and trails all over the Midwest and I have not encountered anything this tire isn't good at dry. I use it on my 27.5 trail bike and it improved speed noticeably over stock tires. It carries speed well and bites in the corners. Works great on loose hardpack, way less wash outs. It's my go to.

the last one out there?

I have always been a fan of semis slick tires sadly they are a dying breed. In my opinion the slaughter trail is the last good one out there and hopefully Specialized will continue the production. I recently bought the butcher and eliminator too and the "new" t rubber compounds and tread patterns are really amazing.

Ripping rear tire

Love this tire in the 27.5/2.6 size. I have run this year round in Louisville, KY area. Very fast rolling for a true 2.6 wide tire. I use this in the rear combined with a Purgatory up front. Fast rolling combo, but caution needs to be exercised once the ground gets wet.

Fast and capable summer tire

Like the title says, very fast and surprisingly capable tire that is perfect for dry summer conditions where I ride in the SE.... rooty, rocky and hard pack in Pisgah, Wilson Creek, etc. Swap for a Butcher or Eliminator as it gets cold or wet
