Comfy and light but horrible rails

Saddle is comfortable and is light, but the outer of the carbon rails cracked to reveal a white underneath after a few weeks without crashing or drops.

My go to saddle

Have this saddle on all my bikes, MTB, road, gravel, cyclocross. Not all have carbon rails but all are phenom.

I still like the phenom

I still like the phenom and at one time it was the best saddle for me and I still recommend it and it is a good price, but the S-Works Power with Mirror has taken over that spot and I recommend it to old faithful phenom fans as myself.

Rails are strangely placed

The rails are pushed very far forward by design compared to all other saddles and I've owned a lot (where you sit gets pushed backwards) so for fit my bike needed to change from a 25mm offset seat post to 0 offset. Both my bikes have this saddle and both needed new seat posts, ouch extra cost. Additionally, the S-Works version is a very different shape and padding profile from the Phenom Expert and Comp. I own both. So if you've tried one don't assume the other will work for you. Which is a bummer because they're named the same but one causes me chaffing and the S-Works doesn't (your mileage may very). That said, this is the most comfortable saddle I've ever ridden (mileage varying) which is why I bought 2. So the extra seat post cost is worth it for me.

Tried the Romin Evo mirror

Tried the Romin Evo mirror to take the place of my now retired Toupe. Didnt work right off the bat. Went to this Phenom based on other reviews of previous Toupe riders saying the Phenom was just as good as the Touple, if not better. I agree, love this Phenom. Use it on my Roubaix. This is not just an MTB saddle.

Weak…

At the second ride, both rails broke like nothing. Bought a carbon fiber repair kit and had them glued back on. First ride after reparation, rails snapped again, different places this time. Definitely, they are weak. Hopefully, Specialized team will get it fixed.

Great while it lasted. then it broke.

Rode this saddle about once a week for about 14 months. Torqued and installed it properly. Rode XC type riding and the rails snapped like a twig on a regular ride. Never crashed or bashed it. Great saddle if you can afford to replace regularly.

Increases reach

Cannot install on most 7x9 seat posts- look carefully at the rails, they lost a good 20mm rear. Light but unusable, even on some 0mm offsets, the seat is too far back

My Saddle for Every EPIC

After discovering the PHENOM, all my S-Works EPICs have been fitted with an S-Works Phenom. The Power Saddle comes off, and the PHENOM goes on. I like the range in the length of the Phenom. Especially for climbing. On the 2014,15, 18, 20 and now, 2021 (EPICs) have proven the PHENOM over and over again. In my last three XC races here in So Cal, I forgot the Chamois Butter twice. And when I realized it, I was confident the PHENOM wouldn't let me down. And it didn't. I even took the W in all three races ;) I just happen to be here on the website to order the latest S-Works PHENOM for my 2021 S-Works EPIC. I'm currently riding a back-up SW Phenom from 2018. I ride the most current Phenom model on my 2021 S-Works EPIC HT. I like the way it looks and feels. It seems faster and lighter, too :) So just thought I'd share.

Best Saddle!

Perfect combo of padding and design! Went from a Toupe and the curve in the tail is now making my position even more dialed! I sit back in my saddle and can't do the power so this one hits the sweet spot for performance and comfort! PLEASE DONT DISCONTINUE! Love it!
