These are a good option for short rides in light drizzle or just too cold for just shoes and thermal socks alone. On the few rides I've tried these toe covers on so far, I had to stop once to retrieve one of the covers after it fell off my shoe. The issue is the hook-and-loop closure beneath the sole, which are a bit too short to attach securely. This was on MTB shoes, mind you, so the lower volume of a road shoe without lugs, might produce better results. I'm a little concerned that the next time I might not notice it's fallen off until I'm a ways down the road.

I can’t believe I rode on winter days without toe covers. Feet are much more comfortable and protected from wind and water on the road. They fit a bit funny on my gravel shoes, but overall do the trick of protecting my toes!

Shoe covers make riding in the cold possible and enjoyable!
