I was super busy with daily life. I loved the previous version of this shoe but it wore down. I bought x2 of these in different sizes. Tired them on today and the upper around the toes is so uncomfortable with my socks in the way the old version is not. They did a weight reduction at the cost of comfort with this thin material that digs into the foot. 400 usd down the toilet will donate them I hope they don't end up in a landfill... very sad

This is my first pair of biking shoes. I am impressed with the quality of the materials materials and quality of the build. The shoe has a great fit and the BOA laces are amazing.

I have nerve problems in both feet and have tried numerous cycling shoes over the past couple of years. Just bought these and rode for over 4 hours on my first ride with no pain whatsoever. No crowding of the toes and metatarsal support - highly recommend.

I have the prior version of the Recon 2.0 so I bought the new one when the old ones wore out. No complaints on the old version. Over 5000 miles on them they just wore out. The new ones have far less padding and are smaller for the same size. The old ones had padding on the top edge of the tongue the new version does not, it is almost sharp at the top and just cuts into your foot. It is all around less comfortable. For same size, the old ones were a little big so I added a foot pad. On the new ones my toes on one side hit the front. Clearly smaller than the same size of the old version. On the old ones I reached the point where the base had worn so much that I am walking on the metal cleat insert. The new ones have such small pads that I am almost there from the start. They will not last long if you walk in them.

The vivid pink here is another example of brands not seeming to care that their "matching" kit doesn't actually match. The vivid pink on the helmet is not reasonably close to the vivid pink on the shoes. I'd think that after decades making these kinds of products, brands might learn to do a bit of testing with dyes and materials so they at least come reasonably close when they're intended to match. Specialized is not alone in this, but I still expect more attention to detail rather than a "it's close enough" or "it's good enough" approach.
