Slaughter GRID 2Bliss Ready

The Slaughter GRID 2Bliss Ready tire has been designed for heavy-pedal, hard-pack riding—receiving vertically stepped knob shapes for more knob core stability and additional biting edges. Fast courses on hard-packed ground require a light, fast tire center to keep speeds high, but must also keep the speed through loose sandy corners and track well under hard braking. For these reasons, we've kept the high shoulder knobs. Our GRIPTON® compound, meanwhile, improves high frequency damping, better attaching the tire to the ground over small bumps and rough sections alike. This also means that the low frequencies of the rolling tire deflections pass through unfiltered, leaving no energy to be absorbed and keeping your speed high. Please note that we recommend GRID tires for anyone seeking the utmost in flat and sidewall protection or additional stability.

It doesn't look like much

It doesn't look like much but don't let the looks fool you. I put this on the rear of an E-bike that sees a mix of streets and mild trails so I didn't want something too aggressive. I was surprised it climbed a gnarly, loose and rocky hill that that all the E-bikes in our group struggled with. The most aggressive tire in our group was a Maxxis Assegai which is by no means the gnarliest tire out there but generally considered to be an extremely solid performer. The Slaughter GRID struggled a little more than the Maxxis on that gnarly hill but rolls like a dream in comparison. I was surprised that such an easy rolling tire would provide that much traction. I don't think I'd choose this as a front tire but it makes me wonder if I need such aggressive rear tires on my other bikes.

2.6=2.375 in the real world

I kinda assumed this would be the case going in, but on my 28mm internal rims, the 27.5x2.6 version is more like a 2.375. I suspect this is why they're being blown out which is why I snagged one. I am running it on the rear and while I wish it was truer to size, it works quite well. I noticed yesterday I can just pedal normally over dry roots and it rolls right over them without losing traction. I was able to stay seated more than my old tire which would require a stand up and sometimes a spin over roots to clear them. I also noticed I was riding quite fast overall so rolling resistance seems nice and low. I love finding excellent tires on super clearance because marketing.

I have historically ran 2.8's

I have historically ran 2.8's Butchers front and rear, but decided to run a 2.6 Slaughter in the rear for rolling speed. I liked it so much I ended up running a 2.8 Slaughter in the front to replace the 4 year old Butcher. The Slaughters corner like a Butcher, but they roll like an XC tire. I wanted to just use them exclusively for rolling speed into jumps, but I like them so much I use them everywhere.

Good grip. Tires are stretchy

Good grip. Tires are stretchy so they need to be pumped to high ps to prevent excessive rolling resistance. I would buy again.

Went on easy, set up

Went on easy, set up tubeless and holding air without any sidewall weeping. Would be 5-stars if they were a little wider - definitely not as burly as MAXXIS 2.6’s. For the price, I’d definitely recommend and buy again.

I bought these tires for

I bought these tires for my wife's Specialize Como. We live in more of a rural community with more than the occasional gravel road. I wanted a tire for her with better traction for corning on loose gravel and still have lower rolling resistance. These tires work great and are exactly what we were looing for.

Solid tire

Running this as a rear tire in the 27.5 x 2.8 size on a hardtail. Only have a few rides in on it but it is fairly fast rolling and hooks up well on hard and medium terrain. It's a bit hard to get used to the distinct gap between the lol profile center nobs and the beefier cornering nobs. It goes from being quiet to abruptly buzzy as the tire compresses over bumps or as you lean into corners or get onto off camber surfaces. Not a performance issue, but it does take some getting used to.

Fast rolling

Easy to work with when setting up and holds air great. I've been running about 22 psi, I should go lower a few notches. Riding in so cal area so lots of loose over hard packed sections and so far so good. Even handled well in slightly wet and muddy conditions.

Great rolling, great cornering

Love this tire and it performs exactly as designed. I ride with the 650b x 2.8"" on the rear of my Salsa Timberjack and 21psi is perfect for me. It rolls fast and corners beautifully on my mostly hardpack/loose over hardpack trails. Even handles mud surprisingly well. It also mounted easily and holds air like a champ. My only gripe is occasional momentarily losing traction on climbs (loose or wet only), and this is mostly my fault for not managing my center of gravity. Fantastic tire.
