love how specialized seats are

love how specialized seats are pre drilled. When cages are mounted the bottles are almost parallel to top tube. Had 2 full bottles on and hit a bump and my specialized bottle holder snapped. bummer.

Could have been designed better

Don't get me wrong, this is a great attachment. The issue is have (and should be a consideration for TT/Tri athletes with areo seat posts) is with the clearance behind the seat post and the bottom-most part of this attachment. Most TT/Tri cyclists (including myself), like to push our saddles as far forward as possible. With the attachment (and with the sitero saddle) there is not enough clearance between the seatpost and bottle mount. This forces me to have the saddle mounted further back and changing the areo position I am otherwise used to.

Great Attachment, Use Sturdy, Solid Cages

I love this attachment. I was super stoked when I left my local bike shop with the Reserve Rack and two new cages. For longer rides I want to carry as much hydration as possible and for me, this is the solution. Less than a mile from my house on my first ride, I hit a bump and both of my new rib cages snapped. Bottles went everywhere. That was a bummer. Again, this is a great attachment but finding a solid cage to mount is necessary as the Specialized cages are just not strong enough.

Does not fit all seatposts

While this does attach to the saddle, there is not enough room for it to correctly mount on the saddle. There are cheaper, lighter, better alternatives.

Integrated SWAT mount

Proper integration. The bottle attaches posterior to the saddle. This position is hypothetically an aerodynamic one. I like this style of SWAT attachment.

Handy Design for Long Rides, BUT . . .

. . . select your water bottle cages appropriately. The rib cages are not very durable. On long rides I take at least four water bottles and this was a good solution. On each of my recent long rides (70, 82 and 55 miles), one or both broke. If you are going to use this, get carbon fiber or aluminium cages.

Great Product

Exactly what I was looking for. Only downside is the bolts that came with the Specialized carbon cage were too long.
