I prefer the older design. You could hold bottle inside your mouth, securing with teeth (flat "moflo" design with LARGE gap within the rubber portion) ____ In case of emergency (pothole, obstacles...) you could immediately grab handlebars leaving bottle in your mouth (current design = dropping bottle or trying to place back in cage) _____ I could care less about the choke hazard — tips becoming loose — functionality is the concern (bottles never weighed more than tip could support= tips are more than secure @ you must willingly force pry/twist it off) ______ if so-called green incentive reduction in plastic was the real reason (it was a poor choice = fractions of rubber saved —resulting in — buying a new cap or entire bottle = more waste) I'll just buy a new bottle if dropped on the road leaving it there. (Angular tip isn't wanted nor required)

Got a bunch of these caps to put on a bunch of existing Spec bottles. Nothing much to write - they perform as intended. Sadly, same can't be said about a bunch of new bottles I got at the same time, with two different cap valve designs, both unusable. Had to use these caps instead.

Easy to open and use, doesn’t leak when closed - the way a bottle cap should work!

I bought these to replace the caps on my Purist bottles. These are not a Moflo lid. They barely open and the flow is restricted. The plug wants to push back in too easy. If you need a new cap just throw the bottle away. Don't waste your money on these.
