The AWOL allows you to tackle any adventure that strikes your fancy. The rugged heat-treated and custom-butted Cr-Mo steel frame and fork—with long-lasting, fully housed cable routing—are light and responsive to provide you with predictable and confident handling, while the mechanical disc brakes keep you in control no matter the conditions. With its wide gear range and comfortable, smooth rolling Fatboy tires to tackle a terrain big and small, plus the highly functional Pizza Rack for ample stowage space, the AWOL is the ideal all-adventure machine.

The custom butted Cr-Mo steel frame provides plenty of stiffness, while still maintaining all-day compliance and comfort. Along with the predictable steering and confident handling of the Cr-Mo steel fork, the AWOL provides the perfect blend of versatility and performance.
The Tektro Spyre mechanical disc brakes provide plenty of stopping power, regardless of terrain or conditions.
The FSA MegaExo triple crankset is a rugged and reliable performer that provides the type of wide gear range inherent to a triple ring crankset. This ensures that you'll be able to tackle whatever hills and climbs stand in your way.
Reflective graphics are strategically located on the bike in order to increase your visibility to other riders and motorists in low-light conditions.
The alloy, double-wall disc wheels can stand up to mile after mile of adventure, while the Fatboy tires provide plenty of smooth riding traction and ample flat protection.

AWOL - Excellent !

A bike that can develop road bike speed. Strong and at the same time flexible, impossible to stop her. Ideal for field trips and gravel by simply changing the tires for one suitable for that type of road. Indestructible, I love her! Guillermo - Buenos Aires - Argentina.

Want another. (WHY discontinue)

Solid simple bike. Great for everything. Strong, fast, durable. It exceeded my expectations for commuter bike. Still impressing me in every way. USED WITH SURLY TRAILER. I overhaul everything. Flat-bar gravel bike. Xt brakes & 180 rotors. Used More MTN than ROAD parts. Double 10 spd (occasionally use of alfine 11) Seeking another AWOL and/or SEQUOIA design (DONT WANT/LIKE 2021 BIKES. many downsides. Carbon forks, thru-axle, future-shock headtube. Weaker frameset) DIVERGE would be OK if it wasn't thru-axle (want to use alfine hub and surly trailer) (carbon fork is a down-side, snapping upon impacts) (future-shock is a DOWN. I'd rather replace frameset instead of compromised frame strength) I'd pay for special orders, limited runs...

Amazing ride, stable, reliable and will outlast me!

Perfect base for entryway to bike packing. Front pizza rack is an awesome inclusion and feels amazing riding with bags up front and off the back wheel or your back. Sora STI leavers shifts reliable without the worries of the finicky fine tuned high-end shifters. Sora STI will no let you down while you're out bush. A little under-braked with std 160mm disc upfront, so I upgraded the front disc rotor to 180mm which now pulls up superbly when loaded up.
