2018 Men's Camber Expert 27.5

It's not often that climbing prowess and playful handling are in the same sentence, but with the Camber Expert 27.5, you get the best of both worlds—blending all of the trail bike characteristics that you want with the XC climbing ability that you need.

This is achieved by thoughtfully combining our full FACT 9m carbon fiber Trail Chassis with our M5 alloy Camber FSR rear end. At both ends of the bike, you'll find that its nimble wheel size gives a little extra travel length to deliver plenty of plush suspension—all without going overboard on big hit capability. This means that you don't have to sacrifice efficiency, weight, or sheer speed to ride how you want. And with our Trail 27.5 Geometry and lightweight, stiff, and smooth Concentric Pivot at the rear, we can guarantee it.

The other trail component of the Camber is utility, and along these lines, it features our fully integrated SWAT™ Door at the down tube of the frame. Open it up, and you're able to safely and securely house your ride essentials right where you want them—on the bike.

For the build, we selected an excellent spec with components like 12-speed SRAM GX Eagle, SRAM Level TL brakes, a FOX 34 fork with a ultra-stiff stanchions, a custom-tuned FOX FLOAT rear shock, and Roval Traverse Carbon rims laced to our own hubs.

I love this bike

I bought this at the end of 2018 and have put it through its paces. Uphill, downhill, XC and everything in between. The first year I had it put almost 900 miles on the bike without a single mechanical failure. That included the Vermont 50 MTB race. This was my first excursion into a full suspension bike and I love it.

Love my Camber

I had to have a women's expert Camber be custom built because Specialized doesn't get what women want. That said, I love my Camber. Love the SWAT, the way it rolls over rocks, and thought it's a tad slower on the climbs, the 650 wheels with the wider rims are perfect for the New Mexico gnar.

""Why wouldn't you is the real?"" question.....

I have been riding in the woods since 1993. A couple weeks ago I ordered this bike and was told they were unsure when it would arrive because, well, there's a back up in the bike industry right now. I was thinking of switching rides but the same day I was thinking of heading in a different direction. This beauty arrived. Sooooo, I added it to the stable, the mountain bike I was riding the most was my 2017 Stumpjumper FSR Elite 650B. I loved and still love that bike, but I wanted something geared a tad more cross country but not totally. Upon lining the bikes up, it was hard to see much differences. A little less travel, but other than that, it looked, at first, as though they weren't much different. Of course, this one has the SWEET all carbon frame and SWWWWWEEEETTTT Carbon wheels. But geometry wise, it looked about the same. Today though, today I jumped on it and hit the trails. This bike climbs unlike any full suspension ride I have ridden. And the Eagle gear ratios. HOLY BALLS BATMAN! Fast and across the spectrum you have every gear you could ask for. And then some. The flats, and hitting the single track, it's fast, stable and you know where the bike is at all times. I did notice, where I would throw the stump jumper hard into a downhill turn and it would shoot me out, this bike wants to carve it more and still.... Shoot you out the other side. The suspension is set up perfect for the bike front and back and in all modes. I can't wait to hit the south west desert with this bad boy! Now, if you want to hear what I didn't quite enjoy, the back brake seems to be a tad spongy. This isn't specialized's fault per-se, I think I'm just used to larger rotors that grab harder and faster. And secondly, the darn bars! I know some like wide bars but we are getting a bit insane here. I mean, in New England we have trees, those trees like to shake hands with your bars when you least expect it. Again, it seems to be the style, but I will be cutting an inch off each side. A++
