It’s dealer’s choice with the Status 160 frameset, but whatever the build, a good time is more than a safe bet. But that said, the odds of you being able to keep your poker face after getting a taste of the Status 160’s playful Mixed Wheel-Size Trail Geometry are awfully tall.

The traction and rolling speed of a 29-inch wheel on the front and the quick-to-flick, snappy ride feel of a 27.5-inch wheel in back may sound like were hedging our bets, but we’re really going all-in on fun.

And, by sticking to a frame design with an emphasis on simplicity and reliability we’ve ensured the fun flows unfiltered and free from distractions.

  • With an eye on keeping maintenance to a minimum, oversized pivot bearings increase durability while a common size across all pivots makes service and replacement a breeze when that day does come around. A threaded SRAM DUB bottom bracket continues on the theme with worry-free performance.
  • The active, planted feel of the Status’s FSR suspension design and Fox’s FLOAT X Performance rear shock equipped with our Rx Trail Tune make for perfect friends—and plenty of benefits. Calling on a twin-tube design that allows for two separate oil pathways during compression and rebound, the FLOAT X Performance rear shock provides plenty of support for big hits while still offering enough buttery small-bump sensitivity to keep you fresh for when the style points really count.

The quality you expect from Specialized

Everything was on point, great welds, flawless paint, perfect design and it came with headset bearings and spacer. I wish it had a universal derailleur hanger, but everything else was flawless.

Best frame for mullet

I built this bike for the purpose of shredding the mountains in Colorado Springs and I am over the moon happy that it performs better than I imagined.

Awesome bike

This was my first full suspension bike. It is an awesome bike. Very stable on high speeds and very fun to ride. The only con is the holes for the internal routing is very small, it is very hard to route the ccable.

Great seat tube clearance & high quality throughout

I've been looking for a mullet frame for a while and one of the big things I was needing was good stand over/seat tube clearance was I have short legs for my height. Even with a 29" inseam I am able to run my PNW Ranier dropper at its full 170mm travel which is awesome for providing clearance to the seat when the dropper is down. Internal cable routing is simple and sensible, no issues with installation and the little touches like different length headset bearing caps make for a slick looking build.

This bike beats all my

This bike beats all my expectations. Going in I figured it would be tough to pedal and really long. After riding it, I was pleasantly incorrect. It handles bumps, rocks, ANYTHING, and is nimble AF. Highly recommend. Impressive geo, and a great bike.

Ot of the box ready

Ot of the box ready to rock, the big S really nailed on the Status, a purpose built doomsday machine that is ready for fun. The fit and finish punches well above its price point.
