Redefine Your Comfort Zone. To make a DH-certified full face with the ventilation…
We deliver! Just say when and how.
Redefine Your Comfort Zone. To make a DH-certified full face with the ventilation and fit of a half shell, our development team took a fully integrated approach when creating the Gambit. Every component was engineered utilizing a comprehensive approach resulting in truly breakthrough performance where the Gambit delivers more than the sum of its parts.
For helmets sold in the U.S. and Canada: Complies with U.S. CPSC Safety Standard for Bicycle Helmets for Persons Age 5 and Older.
Combines a lightweight carbon fiber shell, structurally specific polycarbonate backing, and five optimized pieces of targeted density foam (patent pending) for reduced weight, optimized fit, and increased ventilation. ASTM DH (1952) certified.
Tune a more precise, personalized fit thanks to Gambit’s adjustable Integrated Fit System that accommodates variations in head shape and occipital base.
Occipital base adjustment personalizes fit for comfort and allows you to tune helmet angle to ensure that your helmet and eyewear stay perfectly synched.
4-position adjustable cheek pads provide fit refinement for any head shape.
Integrated, fixed visor with a breakaway feature provides a wide field of view while protecting against trail debris.
Average weight: 640 grams (medium).
Increased airflow and improved ventilation from the SBC Integrated Fit System does away with the excessive padding of a traditional full-face friction fit.
MIPS SL with our exclusive perforated backing integrates MIPS technology within the helmet padding and reduces moisture retention while increasing breathability.
Computational Fluid Dynamic design integrates the maximum volume of internal channeling for optimal airflow through the helmet. 4D brow cooling provides a gap between the helmet and forehead, drawing airflow into internal air channels at every speed.

The helmet is very lightweight, comfortable, and quiet. That said, I didn't personally love the fit cage inside. I personally would have preferred if it had some more padding so you couldn't feel the plastic or if it was just step up to dial the fit via different pad sizes like the Smith Mainline. This is ultimately not a huge deal, the big problem for me was that the visor is not adjustable and the face opening was too small for my goggles, so they sat off my face and felt just a bit weird. Based on the padding, I think this helmet would fit sunglasses though, so if you're not using full face goggles that may not be an issue for you.
So light it feels like a half shell. Haven’t tested the MIPS yet(knocks on wood)
This helmet hits on almost all points... Lightweight, stylish, comfortable, durable paint, airflow, simple, etc... There are 2 slight areas for the Specialized helmet team to improve on in the future, cheek pad attachment points and the interaction between the cheek pad and the chin strap. Neither of these is a reason not to buy this helmet. When I picked up my helmet from the shop the first time I had to switch to a thinner cheek pad and in doing so the barbs in one of the female holes stripped out making it useless so I had to do an exchange. The chin strap on the other hand can have its placement improved since right now it is designed with typical stitching with folds, which happen to land exactly where the cheek pads contact the cheek pressing the stitching and doubled-up strap against my cheek. I am sure the Specialized team will fix these small issues with their next version and these issues should not dissuade you from buying this awesome helmet.
The helmet has a lot of ajustement and its incredibly light as well. It is howevr not the most padded and can fell a bit tight at the cheeks even with the smaller pads. I find its a great product that will please most people and that its one of the better options if you want a full face to do enduro riding.
Absolutely love the fit of this helmet. Super light weight and good vents. I’ve tried a few different high end brands for FF enduro helmets and this is my new favorite. Only one complaint. The system to hold the cheek pads in place is super brittle. Mine broke the day I bought it. Luckily there’s two positions to mount them and I needed the ones that didn’t shatter. Hopefully they can start using a different plastic for these in the next run as I’m sure they’ve gotten plenty of feed back on this issue. But like I said. Best fitting enduro full face I’ve owned and I’ve had a bunch.
Breathable, lightweight, no raddles or noises. Haven’t tested it yet on the ground nor do I want to. But so far great helmet.
I’ve tried the Fox and Troy Lee helmets, the Gambit just has a nicer fit and feels much lighter out on the trail. Had to use the thicker cheek pads to dial it in
Helmet feels good, nice and airy. Adjustable and provides great protection... TBH the first one I had probably saved my life. Bought a second one when i cracked that one. My only gripe, the spot that you clip the earpad into is terrible and will become stripped or break. Forcing you to glue the pad in or try and hold it in place when putting the helmet on.
Rachet system is basically zipties...does not tighten, poor quality for being that expensive.
The Gambit helmet has a carbon shell so it is extremely lightweight. It's barely noticeable after a while. The ventilation is good and it does not obstruct hearing. It's good for long days when you need extra protection. I have a large head, and it fits comfortably.
This is a very nice and lightweight helmet! I mostly do trail riding - blues and blacks - and this keeps me protected. It is warmer than a half shell but not unbearable in summer heat and humidity in the Mid-Atlantic. The orchid color is awesome and I always get compliments. The only reason for four stars is that I have a small female head (53 cm) and the helmet in a size small is almost too large - I'd love to see an xs version. The placement of the chin strap around the ears can be a little bit difficult to make comfortable because there's a little interference with the cheek pads - but this is a minor inconvenience and not a big deal.
I tend to run hot, but I've had no issues with ventilation or overheating while wearing the Gambit. I have noticed some squeaking, probably courtesy of the MIPS system. Tensioning the dial seems to reduce (but not eliminate) the noise. Could be annoying for some folks, but I found I could ignore it after a bit. The Gambit is very light and looks great; there's really no reason to ride without one. Sure, it's pricey, but I'll bet it's still cheaper than getting a broken jaw fixed!
I bought this to replace a convertible helmet I have with intent to cut weight and add ventilation. The Gambit delivers! So lightweight I almost forgot I was wearing it. I always used to shed my old hemet for breathability at ride break points (for the group to re-group)... but not now! So nice and cool in the Gambit. I have a narrow face and actually sized down to the smaller cheek pads it ships with. Really nice lid.
Saved my life!
I was looking for a fullface and didn’t think specialized was the one i would go for but a 50% sale made me change my mind and I’m really glad i went for it. I tried some other brands in store and it compares very well in terms of comfort, aeration and visibility. For half the price… best value for your money you can get!
I have difficulty finding a helmet for my long narrow head that doesn't look like it sits 2" above my melon. This helmets however great all things considered. Its so light and with the adjustable back it follows my head without delay or rattle. With its open design Its good at keeping your head cool while pushing yourself riding or on hot days. And come-on let's be honest it looks SICK so I'm actually going to wear it instead of being embarrassed and leaving at home like so many before it.
Super light weight.
Very light, looks cool. Gets lots of airflow. It's obviously still hotter than an open face because of the cheekpads. But I'm cool with it because now I'm safer.
The MIPS is very comfortable but loud and rattles alot. I had to add more padding around the inside to stop the helmet from shaking around on my head. It's very light, it's breathable, nice shape I can wear my glasses with it on. I got the pink one. just came in the mail today
Bought it for a trip to the French Alps, knowing full well that it's likely to be very hot. I've tested it locally on some technical DH tracks with a short sprint back to the top each time. I never felt overheated or like it needed to be removed. It isn't quite as secure as my full DH helmet, mainly because of the MIPS system, but it never felt like it was flipping about or likely to come off. Also, it's VERY light, which was a welcome change. Would recommend.
Uncomfortable for the price. The helmet is super light by trades off comfort.
Definitely has fit my bill since needing a full face helmet for road biking that is more vented than my one with a shield. I learned the hard way road bike helmets don’t protect your whole face enough and just the brain. The Gambit is very light and haven’t noticed a penalty in not being as aero as my closed full face helmet. I feel very safe now with this helmet especially even in the heat!
took a nasty otb over a small drop at 25mph and hit the ground head first. got knocked out, but remained mostly unscathed, and could walk away with nothing more than a minor nose fracture and a fully cracked helmet with all the paint scratched off the chin bar. very grateful for that chin bar. super light (~600g) for the level of protection, and incredible price for full carbon. no reason not to wear this during most riding. my family all wear these in different colors.
This is a good-looking helmet. Good for enduro and with very little foam inside for people who sweat a lot and want full protection but feel like they are still wearing a light and breathable helmet. Unfortunately, this helmet's paint is cheap, it scratches with just looking at it. Wore it once and I don't even know how I get it chipped on the inside of the jaw element. I wish I had gone for a 2-part helmet where I can go up the mountain with just the top part and go down with a full face.
This is my first full face helemt and my first time wearing a full face, wore it on a 5 stage enduro and before the race I was worried it was going to get in the way because i'm not used to full faces but it didn't get in the way at all, I didn't really notice that I was wearing one at all. I rode 25kms and 800m of elevation it got a bit hot but not bad!
This helmet is very comfortable and lightweight. This is my first helmet with a chin bar and a lot of the other options felt heavy and suffocating. I especially love the dial in the back to adjust the fit. You can really feel the helmet grip your head. I agree with others that it runs large. My head is 59 cm and I am a Large in most brands. In this helmet, I'm a medium with the smaller size cheek pads.
Green helmet, very light, but strong!
Goof fit, great ventilation. Somehow the fitting cushions on the cheeks are in the way of the straps.
I'm now on my third helmet, there is enough adjustment 2 out a skull cap on under neathhelmet, view is great, also weights next 2 nothing, every time I have a crashed, the carbon does crack open, but I'm OK, you want a helmet 2 use again after a crash, don't get this helmet, but if you want a light great helmet get this one, I've come from road racing, you crash bang your head, helmet goes in bin, I would recommend this great helmet 👍
I tend to be hot natured and always wanted a light minimal helmet. Then my best friend had a horrible accident one street away from home, going down hill her Aventon E-bike malfunctioned. She ended up in the surgical trauma ICU with 3 skull fractures just above her eye, bleeding on her brain, broken ribs and fractures on her hip front and back. No one else was involved in the accident. Just the impact of her hitting the pavement, she was wearing a helmet but not a full face one. It sure looks like she landed on her face. She’s gonna make it but she’s looking at a year of recovery and therapy. Her life was threatened and she suffered brain injuries. It scared me straight into a full face helmet. I went shopping at a local dirt bike store (which happens to also sell e-bikes). It was there that I found this downhill rated full face helmet that is amazingly light weight and wonderful ventilation. I feel so much more confident about continuing to ride my Vado and my Roll Sport with my new Gambit helmet equipped with the optional ANGI sensor. So thankful to have this helmet. I really like knowing the ANGI sensor will call for help should I fall. Which hopefully never happens. But after this traumatic event the added safety measures help me keep riding.
Cons: It runs a bit bigger than normal so the fitness can be a bit funny, but it feels fine. It feels that a bit soft cushion on the back and sides would help a lot with the fitting and comfort of the helmet. Lastly, the straps; after a short while of riding, the strap can start messing around with your ears and start husting a little bit. Pros: very good-looking helmet. Really light helmet, If I got lucky and adjust the strap in the way that it does not hurt my ears, I was able to forget I had it on. The adjuster dial on the back of the helmet is spot on. The adjusting securing structure inside the helmet does a very good job, it secures the helmet very well and the helmet does not bounce around or give you those odd headaches like some other expensive helmets. The panoramic view when you have the helmet on is excellent allowing wearing googles very comfortably.
Sizing thew me off, i usually wear a L or XL in offroad helmets for Atvs, but the size chart suggested i choose M in this helmet. Ordered a M and it fits good. I stay nice and cool during a ride, helmet is comfortable for long rides, the mips adjuster is really nice.
unceremoniously went otb on a small jump @ 25mph and landed headfirst. got knocked out for a minute and left a small crack on the helmet shell (being replaced by another Gambit), but was otherwise uninjured. chin guard was very scratched up. felt like it could have been worse. originally bought this for the light weight and don't wear my half shells anymore bc of the superior protection a full face offers.
So comfortable and light an amazing choice
I recommend this helmet to someone almost every time I ride! I love it!
Mountain biking was a huge hobby of mine before a traumatic brain injury, and I've only started to get back into it six years later. I needed a helmet that was extremely safe but also kept me cool (I'm very heat sensitive). This helmet feels sturdy, fits my head well, gives me a great field of view, and has good ventilation for harder climbs or stuffier days. I'm that nerd who wears a full-face on cross country trails, but this helmet looks good nonetheless. The White Sage color is very pretty, and the matte finish makes it easy to keep clean. All-in-all, well worth the money, I love it! (I'm 5'3" and the Small is quite snug. I wear a Medium in the Propero and Tactic).
Felt light and sturdy enough for my trail/enduro rides, but just wasn’t stable on my head. The chin strap was also awkward between the pads and cheeks. Possibly fits other head shapes better
Amazing. Light weight and very comfortable. Runs large - I'm normally a large but medium is perfect for me.
Awesome helmet, very light and comfortable. It fits really well with the Boa system. I think they size up a little as I chose a size medium which is just right (I was a large in the Fox full face). It really sits well with goggles and feels like you’re not wearing it as it’s so light!
Great wearing it for all riding now. Light airy. Goggles just fit under visor.
This is my first full-face helmet, and I'm glad it was my first. This helmet is very light and has the perfect amount of holes for air to fly through. The only thing is the pads on the sides can get pretty sweaty, but that might happen with all full faces I don't know.
Ive had Bell, Shoei, Nolan ( all motorcycle helmets) and Large fitted me well. In this one the large was huge. the medium is prefect. you can change to thicker 30mm inner pads. The innner pads also have 2 positions one more forward than the other which is great. really loving this helmet. I use it for my daily e-scooter commute. I had an open face one and it felt a little exposed for urban environments. This helmet is very very light and visual field is great. Last thing the design is awesome, other helmets have a too toy-ish/bulky design, this one is slick and aggressive at the same time I love it, reminds me of my Bell Moto 3 helmet.
runs large
I was looking for a new Enduro helmet for EWS Burke and decided to give the Gambit a try. After a few rides it was very apparent that this helmet is very light with great ventilation and the retention system providing more than sufficient security of my noggin. Well I must thank the engineers who designed it because I had a huge crash on Knightslayer at Burke and although suffering some bruised ribs, my head came away unscathed. Another thing that made this crash memorable was after catching my breath and getting back on my feel, the ANGI sensor chimed in on my Apple Watch to ask if I was OK. Now traditionally, I'd be with a pretty good size pack of riders, but that morning on my second run I split off at the bottom and went up for another quick run...only this time I was solo. Once I gat back down and had a short rest I looked over the Gambit expecting to see it all cracked up. But to my amazement, only a few scratches. The Gambit is my favorite helmet!
Usually sizes larger than claimed I run large on most helmets but I had to run a medium. That being said it is very breathable during climbs and lightweight.
This helmet is amazing - very light weight, has a wide opening for wide field of vision and breaths very well.
Great looking lid. Superb air flow and very lightweight but no compromising on safety.
I was in the market for a new full face and was able to try one on. My head doesn’t seem to fit bell shape and does well with giro. Buuuut this helmet is crazy light , fits excellent and has way more airflow than any other full face I’ve worn. Expensive but cheaper than an ER visit. Ridden in up to 95 degrees so far and is as light and breezy as I could hope for.
This is the lightest and most comfortable full face helmet you can buy. It also looks amazing when you put it on. I actually think it’s at a great price for what you getting.
helmet is very comfortable and light!!! the straps configuration could be improved. THE MIPS adjustment are excellent but somehow the helmet is not firmly secured when pulling it up and down with the straps latched.
Light and cool
Unbelievably light, well vented, cool design. Not a ton of padding but great fitment makes it a non-issue. Definitely recommended!
My son loves this helmet and it has enough airflow to ride around in Florida summertime weather.
Super light weight, perfect micro adjustments. Look no further and just get this work of perfection.
uber light and comfy! DH racing rated as well. cant beat it!
Nice fit
Very light and comfortable 👍
After trying other similar helmet, which seemed bulky I went to see how Gambit would compare. To my surprise not only its super light but also size L seems spacious but compact and very easy to put on and off. The padding is minimal but that also allows to reduce the heat and size. Size adjustment at the back allows to get a perfect fit. I use it almost all the time, and have no regrets getting it. Worth the price! Highly recommended.
The cheek pads come loose in a couple of rides . I cant use the helmet without the cheek pads.... The paint is also coming out very easily . If the helmet doesnt have this 2 issues , it will be perfect. When reported to Specialized, they sent me for the online store...
I have had mine for a few years now and the only thing that has broke is the adjuster for the visor. Light weight helmet that can bring comfort and confidence for your ride.
I have had mine now for a few months and it's the best lightweight full face helmet I have owned. Would highly recommend this helmet.
Helmet is light and comfortable after all day riding. I have a 63cm head so I was hesitant that the Large would be too small but fits perfectly with way more than enough room. Very happy
