42 are faster and comfier

Great tire 38 mm, sticky and reliable cornering but I will switch to 42s cause more comfortable and actually faster plus more efficient climbs on pavement and roads ( I was testing them in comparison to 42mm thinking speed and weight but it’s the opposite so I’m putting 42s back) otherwise absolutely incredible product, highly recommended

Best All-Around Gravel Tire Available

I'm on the 700x47 and I'd argue this tire performs better than ever other tire I've ridden, in every condition I've thrown at it. Asphalt, fast. Smooth gravel, fast. Rough gravel, fast. Chunky rock sections, fast. Add to that, the cornering grip is the best I've experienced. It just does it all. I've ridden the full Pirelli Gravel tire range, Schwalbe G-One RS, and a few others, and the Pathfinder stands out of the crowd.

Gives new abilities to your bike

I just replaced my old tires , a pair of ride tour 700x32c and the differenc is unbeliveable, its more wide , but still weights so much less that you actually can feel the difference. And the way it turns and grips is just over every expectations. It gave my bike new possibilities. More stable, more comfortable, and weights more then 200g less in total. So 5 star for it

Very solid tire

This is a really versatile tire! I run the 42's for spring rough conditions in Wisconsin and they're great. I had the sport version (38's) on my diverge and put well over 1k miles on them with no issues. They're reasonably fast and handle everything I run in to.

Great tires for all around

I got these to use on my diverge. Ive been using other tire brand in 40mm and they had been fine, but I wanted to see how much more comfortable was using a 47mm tire on my bike and it definitely was worth the change. These tires feel extremely comfortable and honestly I don’t feel much drag from them. I normally ride 50/50 gravel/road I weight 175 with no gear and ride them at 33psi on the back and 30 psi front. Last weekend I did a 62 mile group ride and just pumped them to 40psi and I was able to keep up with all the roadies to the point that at the end of the ride one guy came to see if I was riding an ebike because hes never seen anyone riding such big tires and keeping up with the group on a regular bike. I highly recommend this tire, it definitely does it all!

my first choice for gravel tires

I chose the 38 size tires and they are perfect for my use. I found 40's were too large and 35’s too narrow. I have had other gravel tires that were too light and failed or too heavy. The Specialized is perfect for light to medium gravel and with the center strip perfect for the road. This tire is a perfect balance of tough and good tor the blacktop.

Awesome all-around tire!

I had the TLRs installed on my BMC Alpenlite commuter e-bike hardtail. I added Fox forks which makes it very comfy for gravel, trails or road. I can flip onto gravel from road without any problem. I use lower tire pressure for wet or snowy roads and single track and road and still have a great ride. They wear very well. Hard sidewall takes a lot of punishment from rocks, goatheads and other debris. This is definitely an all-weather tire

Great choice when you ride more asphalt than dirt

I ride 70% tarmac, 30% dirt. The center strip holds up very well to miles upon miles of asphalt. I got 3900 miles out of one set with a rotation after 2782 miles. I have gotten some punctures with these tires, but they might have sealed up if I had been more careful with adding/refreshing sealant. I have noticed that these tires can develop what looks like wet spots over time. This didn't seem to result in loss of pressure. Just for reference I currently have a set of Trigger Pro 2Bliss tires on my bike. The center strip of the rear tire wore to slick after 525 miles. They grip better than the pathfinders on some of the dirt terrain that I ride, but they just don't hold up to the asphalt. The pathfinders are great tires for me. The price is also good.

These tires rip!

Coming from the mtb side with big tires and inserts, I installed the 47c version on my epic hardtail for an awesome "groadeo" bike. They roll smooth in the center, handled great when pushed into gravel corners and have impressive sidewall protection considering running them with fairly low pressure on some chunky CO gravel and washboards!

Good, could be great if lighter.

I have these 700 x 47 set up tubeless on my Specialized AWOL, mounted to Boyd CCC wheels. These went on easily but setting up tubeless with a track pump was really difficult. I love the feel of these on the road, very smooth on-center feel. I only have a 20 or so miles on gravel but these feel much better than the tires they replace. I used Silca's pressure calculator and the ride was amazing. They are quite a bit heavier, however. The tan sidewalls look great on my bike.

Great for most gravel, but be aware of its limits

A good rolling tire, but not the most traction in very loose conditions. I hoped width (47) could overcome the lack of knobs but was proved wrong in a pretty nasty crash. Use it in most conditions and you’ll be very happy. Not for technical gravel approaching MTB.

Sturdy, surprisingly fast tires

I bought the 700x47s for my gravel bike and I love them. I've probably put 300-400 miles on them so far and they've help up super well to all conditions, even chunky, chunder-y roads. They're also surprisingly fast. I haven't felt any drag when I've needed them to roll at speed. My only complaint is that they're not great in slick off-road conditions, but that's to be expected given their tread pattern. I absolutely plan on sticking with them regardless.

700 x 32C pathfinder pro. Exceptional all around tire. Rolls fast on the road and doesn’t hold back on gravel. If ALL you do is gravel go for the 38 or 42C pathfinder pro but if you ride mixed terrain road/gravel/trail mix I think 32C is a perfect tire. I’m 155 pounds I run them 40 psi front and 42 rear no problems. Only limitation would be deep sand. Most riders would probably benefit from a 32C tire rather than rolling around on big balloon tires. Just my opinion.

Love these. The slick strip in the middle keeps me efficient on the road, where I ride 90% of the time. But I just got off of an 80 mile gravel ride, and never lost traction, even in the wet parts. I was worried at first with how small the outside, grip pattern was. But it worked as well as any normal small tread gravel tire I’ve ever used. I’m very happy with this one-size-fits-all solution.

After and experimenting and exploring,

After and experimenting and exploring, I decided that the riding that sparked joy was light or hard packed gravel. That some pavement on such rides was fine, even enjoyable. Looking at reviews for a tire that would best suit that sort of riding, I bought the Pathfinder. It has lived up to the billing. It is super fast on pavement, close to my road bike tire. Gives enough traction and stability on light gravel. Would make a great commuter tire with a dabbling of gravel. Was not great on some deep loose gravel but it did the job.

Almost 6000 miles and still going strong

I put these on the bike in September of 2019. The 700x38s. It's now September 2022. They have almost 6000 miles on them. I rotated the front tire to the back at some point. I have never had a single puncture. They're still going strong and I did a 75 mile gravel race with them yesterday that included some sharp rocky chunky descents. I was a bit worried because they're a little dry rotted but they held up. I've ridden them on tons of gravel and lots of pavement and done ~1000 miles of loaded bike packing with them. I just bought a new pair to have just in case but I'm going to keep riding these until they start to fail in some way. I wouldn't be surprised if they make it well past 7000. Other gravel tires seem to last one season if you're lucky. I weigh 130 pounds.

Great gravel/ road tire. Most

Great gravel/ road tire. Most of my rides are on the bike path. I had the 38 mm wide tires which worked well until I punctured the tire riding through yard of abandoned house. Thank God for tubeless with Stan's. Was able to ride 20 miles back with about 20 pounds of air in tire. FYI, if you sustain a large gash with tubeless, keep pressure low or sealant sprays out So 38 wasn't available, so I bought 32. Very happy with them Do to smaller tread, quicker turns with less resistance unsure of weight, but acceleration is better than 48 as expected. 38 was better on heavy loose gravel. My only complaint is that I have to put air in the tires every day do to lose of air pressure. I didn't have this problem with Sawtooth tires. But we'll worth the inconvenience since I've ridden around 8000 miles withe specialized tubeless tires with no flats (other than the gas but that was my fault). Was a little hard to install by myself. But every room is different with tubeless so you can expect that. Well worth the effort..

Amazing tires!

First of all, I tried several other big brand tires that were a nightmare installing and never held air. Took 3 tries with an airshot compressor to get other brand tires mounted, and leaked air bad immediately with brand new rim tape. Thought there was something wrong with the rim. Bought these tires. Night and day difference. Specialized knows how to make amazing tubeless tires. Mounted the beads by hand with ease, used a normal floor pump again with ease, not even a fast tempo, and they seated right up no problem. Didn't even put sealant in yet and they are holding perfectly. Install could not be easier, literally. And as others have said, amazing rolling resistance for pavement, good cornering grip for pavement and gravel, not the best in loose wet stuff because of tread design, but for 80% or more of gravel rides, amazing.

I set these tires up

I set these tires up on my 2018 Roubaix Pro, the first tubeless ever on the Rovals it came with. Though the installation process wasn't terribly hard, I was a bit frustrated at not being able to get the rear wheel to maintain decent inflation. The first night it lost 40 PSI, the second, 30 PSI, the third, 20 PSI, and a bit more each night until finally, after three long rides and two weeks of stubborn persistence, it's finally holding well. As for the tires themselves, they're great. Just as most reviews point out, they roll great, seem tough as hell, and afford confidence in most situations. Zero regrets, would buy again, fully recommend.

Surprisingly Happy with These Tires

Longtime MTB'er converted to a gravel rider. Bought a Specialized gravel bike recently which came with the Pathfinder Pro 700X38 tires. I needed something slightly wider and was first looking at Maxxis tires. But after riding on the 38's for a bit, I decided to stay with the Pathfinder Pros. I purchased the 700X42 Pathfinder Pro 2BR tires and I am pleasantly surprised with these tires. I mostly ride chunky gravel levee roads and so far, no flats/punctures/cuts etc. I do ride on paved roads sometimes to get to the gravel roads/trails and these tires roll fast! These tires are a great combination - a tough gravel tire that rolls very fast.

Surprisingly good tires for on and off the pavement!

I have a pair of the 700x38 tires on my Crux, and I am amazed at how well they work once I leave the asphalt. Slippery, rocky, rough, weather beaten & otherwise non-maintained gravel and dirt roads (where I ride) are nothing to this tire. Of course these tires need to be run at the lowest possible tire pressure to get the best performance in the gravel. I am able to climb steep loose rocky sections with amazing traction. I'm not a fast downhill rider, so at my slower downhill speeds, and with low air pressure, these tires grip very well. The casings are tough and can take the punishment of jagged and sharps rocks and they are supple enough for a compliant and smooth ride. On the asphalt they are quiet and smooth, making these tires perfect for all around use on and off the pavement. So if you are riding in both worlds, smooth or rocky, these are worth a try.

Excellent Gravel Tires

I've been riding these tires for about eight months, and have been very impressed. They have excellent puncture resistance, hold air very well, are quite comfortable, and consistently test extremely well for rolling resistance, as well. I've been running them on a 19mm internal Mavic UST rim without issues, and was able to seat one of the two with a hand pump, which was nice. There are two things worth noting about this tire in a less positive light. The first one is that the pressures Specialized suggests on the tire itself are exceedingly high. I would suggest using SRAM's pressure calculator, instead. The second is that these tires are great value in the USA, where they run $50 USD. In Canada, they end up costing $85, which is way more than the exchange rate difference (they should cost about $65). I don't like paying an extra $20 per tire because I happen to be Canadian.

Great tire in most areas. One weakness.

These tires feel fast seat of the pants. They feel like they have low rolling resistance. Decent ride quality…much better than Cannonballs but not quite as cush as Resolutes. Puncture resistance is excellent. Several thousand miles on mine with zero flats. The minus is little bite in corners on loose stuff due to minimal tread. If you ride on loose stuff or take bike path corners quickly, this isn’t the tire for you. But it excels in a straight line.

Much quieter on pavement than the 700 33 TracerPro that came on the bike. Using Tubolito Gravel tubes. If they narrowed the center strip by about 25% and it came in a 33 or 35(hint hint) would be ideal for me. I'm not a big guy. Fast tire with good all-round capability

There is no such thing as the perfect gravel tire, but these come close. A string of high-profile race wins are exhibit A, but for us mere mortals, a supple casing, fast rolling center, impressive puncture resistance, and subtle good looks, make this a top choice. I've run them on mountain bike trails, paved roads, and gravel roads of various grades, and they are predictable ,shock absorbent, and have low rolling resistance. Specialized nailed it with this design. (I'm running 700 x 38 pros)

My only comments is for the first 200-300 miles the molding nubs made the tires feel a little uncomfortable when turning hard on a paved road. Once the nubs wore off, the feel of turning on the road is good. I highly recommend.

Best All Terrain Gravel Tire

Very fast and quiet on pavement. Grippy for cornering, gravel and dirt. These are my go to tires.

Smooth and Fast

With an inner tube, I use 50 to 60 pounds, and the ride is very supple on gravel roads. It's actually hard to believe these tires are so comfortable. You won't break any speed records, but these tires are far more efficient than most large tires, making longer rides possible. I use these on my Specialized Rockhopper, making it the gravel bike I've always wanted it to be. The center tread is raised at a fairly steep angle, and it rolls very well. Compared to tires with large contact points or knobbies, these tires are relatively quiet, making the ride more enjoyable. They part the gravel instead of rolling over it. Truly a unique design, but it works! An outstanding tire that makes gravel riding fun.

Great multi surface tire

I was looking for a tire that works well on paved and gravel/dirt roads and these do great. I run higher pressure while riding the pavement to reach the gravel/dirt roads and they are fast, smooth and quiet then when I hit the gravel/dirt I lower the pressure so the side tread comes into contact and the traction is good. On hard to medium loose they do very well in my area.

Great tire

700 x 38 Have put 1650 miles on the tires, 90% rails to trails. Roughly 65% tarmac and 35% crushed limestone, gravel, mud, and grass. Roll over plenty of sticks, rocks, and acorns without a flat so far. Rough roads of Pittsburgh, PA have not punctured them yet either. Wear has been pretty good also. Roll fast enough for me on tarmac and have never lost grip on lose surfaces. I have experienced the tire slip when roads are wet, going up a hill when putting a lot of power out but I feel that is to be expected in the conditions. Very happy with these tires, no reservations in recommending.

Perfect match for the Creo EVO

The 700x38 are standard on the EVO, and here in Colorado right off my doorstep we have miles of relatively flat gravel to smooth paved bike trails to 10k mountain roads. The Pathfinder Pro is happy on everything. A note on pressure. The 700x38 sidewall says 50-80, but that's with tubes. I highly recommend going tubeless on this tire - the ride is more supple, flat resistance is better, and for middleweight riders you can run 35-45 psi without risking pinch flats. If you know you're going to be on pavement only, you can bump the tubeless psi to 50 but there's no need to go much higher than that unless your rider weight is >200lbs.

Magic carpet ride

These tires came as standard equipment on my Turbo Creo SL Evo. I am shocked at how well they roll on the roads and how good the grip is on gravel. We don't get many punctures in our area so I did not convert to Tubeless yet, but I may do that. Note, on the Creo, due to added weight, I have to run 70psi at the rear. Still very supple. Reminds me of GP4000s ride quality wise.

Perfect mixed riding tire

I love these tires. I've ridden single track and gravel with them, as well as long road miles. Let's face it, not a lot of use have gravel roads at our doorstep. It's always a mixture of paved and gravel. These puppies roll fast on pavement and grip well on dry, moderately loose gravel and single track. Let out some air for long gravel/singletrack centric days, or pump em up to the max for road tours. These do it all.

This is a perfect ""do it all"" tire

I have use the Pathfinder in several sizes on several bikes (Creo and Sequoia)...and love it. It think it excels at everything from pavement to gravel. It is quite on the road as a result of the smooth center strip and it really does great in the gravel and hard packed dirt. You might think you would want something knobbier for gravel but this file tread is just perfect. Great traction and very smooth riding. I also like that it comes in several sizes (38 and 42) and also has a choice of sidewall colors. It also wears like iron...great mileage.

Great tubeless adventure tires

Theses are great tubeless tires and I have not had any issues. I mostly ride pavement but anytime I come across gravel, dirt, single track, and or anything that isn't paved I have no fear of going over it. With either the help of tubeless sealant and or luck I have not had a single flat. The longest single ride I have had on this is 43 miles with a total of about 500-600 miles in the past 3-4 months

Great on paved and even better on dirt/gravel

Rode this all last summer on trails around Lake Davis in Portola and around Sacramento and foothills. Great traction on Kinetic Cycles KGR rides. From gravel to paved to loose dirt.

My Favorite Gravel Tires

These tires are fast, tough and handle anything from fast roads to loose and rocky single track. I run a 42 up front and 38 in the back at 40 and 50 psi for the rocky stuff.

PERFECT tires for mixed gravel and paved riding

I just converted my TriCross from a commuter to a gravel grinder by taking off my rack and fender and putting on these tires in 38c. Thanks to the center strip, they are blazing fast on tarmac and thanks to the grippy edges, they are perfectly capable climbing gravel roads with loose rock. So glad I bought them. I'll come back later with my longterm thoughts, but for now, I could not be more pleased.

These tires are extremely versatile

I live in the front range Colorado and wanted a tire that was quick on gravel and no slouch on the road. These do not disappoint and In fact exceed the sawtooth performance and ride fasted than any of my wtb gravel tires.

Excellent tires

Love these tires so far. Mounted up tubeless (easily) and did a 55 mile gravel ride here in CO. Some fairly adventurous sections of rutted out, rocky trail and the Pathfinders were great. Also very nice rolling on pavement as well! Excellent tires at a surprisingly reasonable price.

Don't Let Go Of Your Handlebars!!!

Most cyclists like to ride without their hands on the bars for short periods to get drinks, rest hands and for general comfort, but these tires have a potentially FATAL flaw. The center of the tire all the way around is made with a very high squared edge block of rubber with a sharp drop-off into the traction part of the tire, the problem is when you are riding with your hands off the bars and your bike leans over that sharp drop-off, it grabs your bike and tries to throw you into curbs, grass, people, cars, dogs, cats, you name it. On gravel they are absolutely fine.

Very please - Great tire and at any price

Tried most of the top names and I've got to say these tires were a shocker. Fast and tough, I've taken them in DK type chunky, crunchy flint - loose sand (though not real deep) and loose dirt roads. They didn't look like they were going to be all purpose but surprisingly they handled extremely well in all types of off road surface. The pattern seems to just push stuff out of the way and while I've only put a couple hundred miles on them there is no noticeable wear. Pavement - Very good. Maybe the fastest I've ridden for gravel tires. They held sealant like you want tubeless tire to. Two things are still TBD - Mud and durability over time. For an initial impression I think I like these better than any other tire I've tried.

Fast and Supple. I preferred this over the size 42 , gained more speed. Tried on a 3 hour rainy ride on paved and gravel road - performed excellent!!! not tried on sand and mud yet.

Riding 38's and they're super fast and quiet on the pavement getting to the dirt. On gravel fire roads and packed dirt these tires are super grippy on the climbs and downhill corners. Best tire design I've ridden for mixed terrain. Super easy tubeless setup. If its super muddy, then no - all other situations this is all you need.

Great tire for all around

Bought this tire for my long road to dirt rides and so far they work really well in the wet roads and gravel fire roads. Haven't had an issue with grip in corners so I'll keep pushing them till I find the breaking point. Hope to race them in the Lost and Found race coming up. I live in the Bayarea and ride mount Tam and Headlands and there seem to be perfect for the road to dirt trips.

YES YES YES!

I run these on my CruX in the offseason and they check all of the boxes for the mixed terrain riding here in Boulder, CO! From dirt, to pavement to a little bit of single track, these are the best all around tires I have ever used. A+ (I find these to roll faster on pavement than the Sawtooth and have more bite when I point them toward gravel)

First impressions.

After using the trigger sport 700x38 for 2 years, I've just installed the tires on my AWOL and did 2 rides (60 km) on tarmac and cobbles, mainly up and downhill. The tires roll very well and have good grip on switchbacks. Need to test them on longer distance rides and on gravel for a long term review.
