Capable and Willing

This was my backup bike for gravel so I trained a bit on it, and it is damn near as capable as my $5000 Crux. Such a value and can do road and gravel.

The perfect hybrid

I had been looking for something between a road bike and off-road bike that I could use on a casual basis with my kids. But I also wanted something that was still high-performance and superior quality. And this is the perfect bike for just that.

Best bike I've ever owned

I like to ride throughout the city. A little gravel here, a little asphalt there, some canal trails, etc. And I cannot imagine needing anything beyond what this bike offers. It's the best bike I've ever owned. It accelerates almost effortlessly, rides quiet & quick. I love it. Also THE COMFORT. Wow. I thought that tiny seat was gonna be painful, but it is actually more comfortable than the big plush cartoon seats you see some people with. I love this bike. I love the smooth shifting, the one-handed shifting, the smooth pedal action. Cannot gush about this thing enough.

I would definitely buy this product again.

As an entry level rider, I just went to a dealer and asked for a hybrid.. boy was I surprised and pleased with my purchase. I've put about 300 miles in on my Sirrus X 3.0 and find myself just as excited to ride as day 1. No issues with the left crank as stated in other reviews. Excellent bike, on and off road.

Team Specialized

I now own a Sirius 3.0 X and could not be happier. I have owned other bikes but this one is by far the best. It is a pleasure to ride fast or take it for a casual ride. I also came across a Specialized Hardrock on the 'side of the road' sale. I got it tuned up and is my, just for fun, second, bike. What a combo! My wife owns a Specialized 2.0 X 2020 and is ecstatic about the ride she gets. Definitely, happy about joining the Specialized family.

2nd Perfect for crushed limestone trails

This bike is perfect for riding on gravel trails through the woods and on rail-to-trails paths. This is my second review, first one was after left pedal crank fell off in March. Since repair/proper installation I have 600 enjoyable miles on the bike without a problem with only basic maintenance at home (clean chain, etc.). Best all around bike I have ever had...light, easy to ride, shift and decent speed. Won't keep up with a drop bar gravel but outpaces other flat bar hybrids.

Yes, I would buy this product again

I give the Sirrus x 3.0 5 stars. I really enjoy the bike. However, when I bought the bike in September 2020 from a bike shop in Atlanta, GA I have no way of knowing what model year it is. I thought it was a 2020 model but the bike shop told me it is a 2021 model. I sent an email to Specialized but have yet to receive a response. I even called Specialized and recorded a voice mail but still waiting for a response. If I would change one thing I would probably replace tires with a 700x38mm size of the same Pathfinder Sport Tires instead of the 700x42mm size.

Really Enjoying This Bike

Great for paved trails and can handle a little off-road as well. Bike feels very solid and I have not had any of the crank issues. I think this has been fixed.

Great bike!

First bike in over 40 years. Hit the Katy Trail over the weekend and the bikes performance was flawless. Handles superbly on gravel, and is comfortable to ride.

Bike is a new beast after fix

I'm back with a second review. After my left crank fell off after only 40 miles, I took it to the LBS and they got into contact with Specialized and were informed about the defect. They reassembled the crankset appropriately and since then, about 200 miles, it's been a beast. This ridea soo smooth one roads and handles gravel trails like a dream. Yes, I will recommend this bike to a friend ONLY after they have made sure it was assembled right. Great bike.

Great bike!

I bought this bike 2 weekdays ago, and got a little concerned after reading through the comments about the left crank arm falling off. However, the same day that I got my bike, I saw that Specialized released a warning and told their costumers to return their bikes to the bike shop to get the left crank arm fixed. And, after returning the bike and getting the crank arm properly attached - I've had no problems and it's a fantastic, easy and light weight bike. I take long bike rides with this bike, I ride it to work and I've had no problems with it this far. I've even managed to take it out in the woods, so it can manage some gravel as well.

Awful

I bought this bike twice to give it a second chance and both times it had separate problems immediately after purchase making the bike unrideable. The first time, the higest two gears would skip back and forth and make a metal clanging sound and the second time the left crankarm repeatedly snapped off midride (despite a bike shop being able to put it back temporarily) causing a dangerous situation. Ill never buy a Specialized again.

Would not buy again

Just bought this bike at the end of May. Since then, the left pedal crank has fallen off mid ride as it has for many other reviewers. I was 2 miles away from home. The bike has been ridden less than 75 miles. I will say that it a nice bike to ride but the crank issue is ridiculous. I have contacted Specialized and am still waiting to hear from them. I am not too hopeful that they will do anything. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this bike!!

Great bike if built right

Most reviews here focus on the problem with the left pedal (tbf, that would be hard to get past). If your bike shop assembles it according to the updated instructions from the manufacturer, that's not a problem though. This is the first bike I've owned in years, and it rides great! The large tires make for a smooth ride on bumpy city streets and gravel trails, but the bike still feels light and responsive (for someone with little experience on expensive road bikes). The shifting is crisp, and the 1x9 system has everything I need, plus should be durable down the line. If you can find this bike in stock anywhere, give it a chance!

Great bike after left pedal/crank reinstalled at LBS

Left pedal crank fell off at about 25 miles. Brought back to local bike shop. Specialized told my LBS that there were issues due to crank not installed in right order at the factory. LBS reinstalled per Specialized instructions. Have done 300 miles since reinstalled. Great bike for gravel trails and tow paths. Pathfinder tires also make the bike good and fast for tarmac. I would have rated higher if not for the crank issue. I recommend the Sirrus X 3.0 but make sure the LBS you are buying from is aware of the issue and can remove and reinstall the pedal cranks correctly.

Poor Quality

This bike rode awesome for 2 days until the crankshaft fell off while out for a ride and Ihad to walk the bike home. I returned it to the bike shop. They replaced the crankshaft with a new one. The bike rode good for another 3 days until the crankshaft fell off again. I returned it to the bike shop again but this time they kept it for 5 days until they received a new crankshaft. Now the gears are skipping when turning corners, stop and go or riding on an incline. I returned the bike again (week 3). Before going back to the shop I called and sent an email to specialized but have yet to receive a response... When I returned to the bile shop I asked for a manager or owner. I was told the crankshaft is a known problem on every 4-5 of these bikes. I asked for my money back so I could buy a a different bike. The bike shop was very accommodating and allowed me to return the back. I have been buying specialized and giant bikes for over 17 years and have never had to return a bike for any defects. This is what I would expect from a less expensive bike from a big box retailer not a bike dealership with a repatable brand like specialized.

I would be cautious of this product because of the crankissu

Sirrus x3 2020. Bike is great- nimble and fast. However within 2 weeks of purchase, my left pedal crank came off without warning while climbing a hill, and I had to walk back 5 miles. This makes me concerned about an injury and confidence on going long rides. Belmont wheelworks, where I bought the bike fixed it, and if it reoccurs, I'm returning the bike.

Probably not

Like everyone else here, the left crank arm fell off within 4 days. And has fallen off about 4 times since. Definitely a flawed design. It's also labeled 12-14 nm which is super low. It's hard to feel confident in this bike. I literally look down to check if it's walking off constantly

Left crank issue

On my 4th ride, the left crank completely fell off mid-ride. Very dangerous situation. I was far from home and despite my best efforts to fix it out on the road, no luck and I had to walk several miles home. It's been a couple weeks now with a new crank set and I'm now loving the bike. I'd recommend ONLY if Specialized fixes the crank issue.

Left crank fell off. Aside from that, great ride.

I just got this bike about 3 weeks ago. I've only got about 60 miles on it and the left crank fell off 5 miles on a trail. Luckily a good samaritan stopped by and let me use his tool to get it back on. I'm going to take it to the LBS and see what they can do about it and show them all these reviews. It seem like a very common manufacturing error. Aside from that it's an amazing bike and a great ride.

Great bike overall. Crank came apart

So, wow. Really nice bike. Excellent geometry and smooth to ride. The crank came apart on my second ride While standing on a hill climb. I sustained minor injuries but was able to patch it back together and get it home. LBS Orange Cycle was very nice. Replaced the crank from a new bike and have had no problems since. Said something about spacers that were mistakenly placed at factory which effectively shortened the spindle length allowing the crank to come apart. Not sure if Specialized is going to recall the crank, but they should.

Ledt pedal crank fell off on my 3rd ride

Seems like something is going on with the left pedal crank. On my 3rd ride it fell off. I was able to pick the pieces up and it was put on again.

Pedal fell off during ride!!!

I'm so disappointed! The pedal fell off this brand new bike 40 minutes after purchase. I was 12 miles away from my car and had to walk the bike back. I tried several times to tighten the pedal and without fail, it kept falling off. I bought this bike Thursday and wasn't able to get an hour ride in. Very dangerous, so inconvenient and would return this bike if I could.

Left Pedal Fell Off on New Bike

Writing this comment because I saw on the Sirrus 3.0 page two recent reviews of the left pedal arm falling off on newly purchased bikes. This happened to me as well on my newly purchased bike. Fell off on the 3rd ride, luckily it was at the end of my ride and I was going slow. Took it to my LBS and they reattached. The very next ride the left pedal arm fell off AGAIN. I only didn't crash because I recognized the feeling of the arm falling off and slowed down considerably. I'm afraid this sounds like a manufacturer problem and I hope Specialized monitors these reviews as it sounds like there is an assembly line issue. My LBS was great, logged a manufacturer defect and assembled a new crank set. When the bike is functioning, it rides fantastic, very comfortable and rides fast but would not recommend buying at this moment. Monitor to see if more people are having the same issue as it has serious safety concerns.

Great universal bike!

This bike handles very well. It has super easy gear shifting (on just one side of the handlebars), easy steering, rides dirt/gravel/road terrain. Peddles are nice and wide. Comfortable ride, lightweight. Can switch to fatter tires if need be. Can permanently place water bottle/saddlebag racks. Great multipurpose bike!!

Love riding this bike

Use: 2 weeks use. Used for both fitness and as a commuter bike. Terrain: Combination of road, foot path, gravel trail riding (foot paths) Good: excellent handling (braking, balance), quick (slick center on tires help speed on road and pavement), tires had no issue traversing stream (4""-10"" deep), clean appearance (cable management, only rear de-railer), tires absorb road vibration/rough road, comfortable position. pedals (surprised with grip.. may keep and not replace with clipless) Bad: n/a (too early to tell)
