Let's get something clear, the Stumpjumper EVO Alloy isn't a "normal" trail bike. It's built to get gnarly, plain and simple. Featuring the same all-new design as its carbon brethren—including an adjustable head tube angle, 150mm of performance tuned travel, the adaptability of S-Sizing, and SWAT™ Door integration—in a lightweight yet tough M5 Alloy chassis, you're going to be able to bomb down trails that you thought you couldn't touch without a full-blown DH rig.

Spec’d with a no-fuss SRAM NX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain, bomber 30mm-wide alloy wheels, and plush Fox FLOAT Performance suspension, there’s no question the Stumpjumper EVO Comp Alloy is dressed to shred.

  • All the travel in the world is useless without the proper shock tuning and kinematics. For the new Stumpjumper EVO design, we prioritized kinematic performance. Applying lessons learned while developing the Enduro, then following that with more than 1,000 hours of field and suspension lab development, we’ve not only improved the pedaling performance of the Stumpjumper, but we’ve made it more capable, agile, and lively. We increased anti-squat, so the suspension better resists pedal bob, and we further improved bump performance on square-edge hits. Bottom line? This thing shreds trails, not legs.

  • The S-Sizing geometry of the new Stumpjumper EVO is our most progressive yet. Long, low, slack, short offset fork, steeper seat tube angle – these are requirements for modern progressive riding. But not everyone jibs the same way, which is why the geo on the new Stumpjumper EVO is fully adjustable with six different settings. You can adjust the BB height by 10mm, you can adjust your head angle by two-degrees, and you can make these adjustments independently of each other. Finally, if you want to go full-party mullet-mode, the EVO lets you run a 27.5-inch rear wheel mated with a 29-inch front.

  • Rider-First Engineered™ frames use a size-specific approach to ride characteristics that ensures benchmark handling and flawless performance, regardless of frame or rider size. Whether you’re a jump-happy grom riding an S1, or a DH-fiend giant in need of the lengthy S6, you’ll experience the same ride traits – rail-sharp cornering and balanced front and rear stiffness – at the lightest-possible weight.

  • We introduced the SWAT™ door on the Stumpjumper in 2016, adding room IN your frame for those “oh sh**t” necessities like pumps and spare tubes, and immediately rendering jersey pockets redundant.

165mm cranks for all sizes!!!!

Great bike. A bit on the heavy side. Had to pop volume spacers immediately on both shock and fork - pedal strike is insane. Yall need to spec all these with shorter cranks

Best Full SUS for this price

I've had this bike for a couple of months now and love it so much! The only thing I don't like about is that I can't change the back air shock for a coil for more downhill stuff. This bike can go from flow to pro-line techy trails for days. I would be recommending changing out the front fork to a 170mm if doing more enduro but this is perfect for the best all-around bike.

Truly Amazing

I bought this bike last year in Raspberry S6. I'm 6'8 and this is the first time I've ever ridden a frame meant for someone my size. Definitely helped me feel better positioned on a bike and more confident, there definitely was a bit of a learning curve to manipulating the bike with the longer wheelbase but I really enjoy it. I'm probably going to keep it forever!

Love the ride, not to happy with the shifting

I love the bike, much more comfortable than my hardtail rockhopper. The shifting is not very accurate though, not sure if its an adjustment that can be changed. It clicks sometimes and doesnt shift, and sometimes jumps two gears. Not sure what to do about it, or if it is normal.

This bike is great

I bought this bike 6 months ago and it’s been great it’s never let me down and it’s survived multiple crashes and it has about 300 miles on it now and it runs like it is new. This is the best bike for the price and it’s worth it and I plan to use this bike for years to come.

The machine

This stumpy is rad! Coming from a single pivot 650b and test riding a lot of others, specialized have created a beast! I love the geometry of this bike, it feels so nice in the corners being a 29er. Floats over absolutely anything with ease and climbs hills like a goat. Great stuff

This Bike Rips

This bike rips! Perfect for hitting anything with confidence weather you're at the bike park, local trails, or hitting some freeride lines. For reference: 5'4, F, 150lbs- S2 sizing. Unreal under speed. With speed the maneuverability, responsiveness, poppiness, and grip game changes completely. You can feel this bikes potential with speed and work to push the limits knowing your ride is fully capable of performing. Massive drop, plowing over gnarly roots, navigating an unsuspecting janky rock garden at DH speeds? You're covered. Climbs like a beast. In circumstances where the grippy tires, sag, and terrain are against you, lock out the shock! Code R brakes give you incredible power and feathering versatility. BB- Sag or not, it's low. Its height makes you conscious of your pedaling over roots/rocks/features with steeper apexes as you will need to effectively time strokes to miss striking ground abnormalities. Once you master its capabilities here, you're golden. Happy Trails!

Last bike i'll ever own

I've been riding bmx, mtb since i was a kid. looking back on all my favorite bikes that i loved i've never really felt a connection to any of them like i do with this one. I have coveted the Stumpy for years, more so when the EVO was first released back in 2018. I'll never need or want another bike, rather bike frame. It fits me perfectly. I've never felt so confident and in control like i do with this bike. It was delivered with a mullet setup as i requested and other than tubeless the only "upgrade" was the raceface atlas pedals as a colorful touch .. for now :) My love for this bike runs deep. It has taken everything i throw at it and monster-trucks over everything. The jumps, the drops, sketchy berms, long downhills, the technical, rock gardens and root bound sections, the climbing, the everything it just eats it up. 1000% recommended.. if you can find one

A great trail bike

Purchased this bike earlier this summer, left it completely stock besides pedals, and took it as a daily to the local bike park. It certainly sends, and climbs just as well. I can take it on the local trails, riding alongside my wife on her rockhopper, then drop the seat, put it on the chair lift, and be just as comfortable taking big berms, jumps and drops. You have to remember though, this is a trail bike. It does well at what it’s built for, if you expected to hammer down rocky lines go grab a Demo or FRS. Wanted to boost something around the park? Go pickup a clash. This bike will climb the steep switchbacks, then let you hit the kickers those groms built at the bottom of the trail. Perfect all rounder. Only thing to note, my bezel for my swat box shook off at the bike park. I can’t find the replacement parts, the one on specialized is for another bike.

Great ride! Built like a tank

Love the way this bike is built. It is a bit heavy, but I feel it will hold up to me. I purchased this bike without ever throwing a leg over the top tube (which is not recommended). The bike shop set it up and away I went. On my first ride, I noticed the tires that came on this bike were way too aggressive for the terrain I was riding (some trails in Florida have sugar sand). Purchased two replacement tires with less chunk and better rolling resistance which made my second ride more enjoyable. Some might say this is too much bike for riding in Florida but some trails we ride have chunk, drops and jumps. Going to the mountain bike capitol of the world soon (Bentonville, Arkansas) and will re-install the original tires which will be more fitting to handle the terrain there. Very Happy with this purchase This Stumpy is AWESOME !!!!

This really is a killer

This really is a killer bike. Very nimble in the turns, and feels great throughout jumps. Shout out to my local dealer Spokeworks who assembled and delivered bike to me through the dealer purchase. I was immediately comfortable in the saddle and within 30 minutes had the suspension fine tuned to my liking. I've never owned a carbon frame, so I have no reference, but I have to say the alloy frame performs great on the trails. For the price, and ability to upgrade an already great platform in the future, you can't beat it

My first modern geometry mountain bike.

I got this bike because I needed to upgrade my bike. My old bike was 20+ years old so I do not know much about how a modern bike should feel on a trail. With that said this bike feels amazing on the trail. It feels very planted on technical climes and crushes descents. You feel like you are floating down the trail and when you want to jump the bike seems to float off the trail. This bike is amazing for the price. I would definitely recommend this bike to anyone.

Love it, but I would change a few things

This is the first specialized bike that I have owned, as Ive usually ridden Trek an Orbea. I went into my local shop looking to get the carbon version but I fell in love with the Alloy because it had almost everything that the carbon version offered. The bike is easy to control and feels like a cloud over just about any terrain, not to mention it is a gorgeous bike. There are a few things it lacks in its stock version, first being downtube protection. This was my first issue with it as there is no product available to fill the void left by the lack of protection below the bottom bracket so you run the risk of denting the frame if you ride more aggressively. The other thing is I am not a fan of the butcher tires that come on the bike. I feel as if they do not grip well around corners or in berms due to a weak sidewall but that is an easy fix. Overall I would give it a 4.5 out of 5, I love this bike and for what you pay you get a hell of a bike.

Tank but like M18 Hellcat

Tank, not because it's heavy, 35lbs off the show room floor. Tank because I just feel indestructible on it. Up Hills no problem, mud right through it, rivers piece of cake, downhill right at home. Rocks, roots and brush don't even blink. After six months of research, videos and forums. This bike just makes me smile; when I ride it and when I just look at it. 64HT and low BB. I added a smash guard for the chainring since you run low but so far can't say enough good things about this bike. As all the forums say, plush, supple, playful, stable, climbs like a goat... Now the SWAT box comes with a waterproof tube for the top end but doesn't come with the bottom water bladder which I was disappointed with. Fits a tube, first aid, plug kit, food, CO2, matches, and Tyre levers. Tools are attached to the bottom of the bottle cage and tubeless Valves are included. My chain was slipping down when back pedaling in 1st gear but hopefully my new non boosted chainring will fix that minor issue.

My Soul AND My Wallet Love EVO Alloy

I knew when I read the specs that this bike would be perfect!! It seems like Soecialized designs their Stumpy to evolve with my riding! From the 2019 Alloy SJ I had to this one, all I can see is continuous improvement!!! Everything is simply much better… Forgiving where and when it has to be and burly in all the other places, while still feeling like it’s 5lbs lighter simply because it’s an efficient climber, period. Spec-wise, you cannot find a better value on the Comp (entry-level) build anywhere else. I love the SWAT™️ Door. It is a game-changer too… I can pack less stuff in my bag and transfer the load to the bike, which is incredibly convenient!! I’m 177cm / 5’9.5” and the S3 is the perfect size! I know this bike will keep the fun rolling between my legs for a long time…
